Goldfields Multicultural Association (GMA) is a non-profit organisation that promotes multiculturalism in Kalgoorlie, Australia.
I had the opportunity to be a part of the organiser as well as the emcee for its 10th anniversary at St Barbara Square. The event celebrated the multiculturalism and integration in our community.
This was such an exciting event as there were many performances and activities for everyone, including:
- Face painting
- Japanese calligraphy
- Henna workshop
- Belly dance
- Indonesian dance
- Australian poems
- Goldfields Brass Band
- Eastern Goldfields Highland Pipe Band
- Chinese harp
- African stall
- Australian Red Cross information stall
We handed out balloons to kids. Attended by around 300 people, it was a successful event. It was a showcase of teamwork, integration, and inclusion in the community.
