Why is an eye contact important?

When you are having an eye contact with the audience, you are communicating with them. You can see if they are interested, confused or excited to listen to you.

 

What if you are not comfortable to look at other people?

There are some techniques that you can try.

  • Find friendly faces. When people smile at you it is easier to smile back to them.
  • If you don’t want to look at their eyes, you can try to look at their foreheads instead.
  • Think that people are interested in your presentation. You share the information that they want to know.
